FULL RANGE SOUND IN A SLIM TOWER

The Legacy Expression is a handcrafted, passive tower speaker that brings Legacy Audio’s design approach to a compact footprint. It is designed for broad lateral coverage, so listeners off the center seat hear a balanced, coherent presentation.

3 DRIVER, 2.5 -DESIGN

High frequencies are handled by a 1″ dual pole AMT folded ribbon tweeter, prized for its fast transient response and low distortion. Below it, two 8″ drivers with silver/graphite woven diaphragms and cast frames carry the midrange and bass. Each uses a phase compensation plug for smooth, even output. The vented cabinet uses an assisted 5th order Butterworth alignment, extending response down to 38 Hz.

FLEXIBLE CONNECTIONS AND ROOM TUNING

A rear terminal plate houses two rows of gold five-way binding posts, one for the upper section and one for the bass section. Factory jumpers allow single-amp operation, and removing them opens the door to biwiring, passive biamping or active biamping. Two toggle switches tailor the speaker to the room. The Treble Trim shelves output down 2 dB at 10 kHz for brighter spaces. The Bass Trim reduces output 2 dB at 60 Hz for corner placement and raises impedance for budget receivers.

EASY TO DRIVE

The Expression presents a smooth, non-reactive load to virtually any amplifier. With a room sensitivity of 94 dB and a recommended range of 15 to 250 watts, it performs well with modest amplifiers and rewards high-powered amplification.

HANDCRAFTED CABINETRY

Beneath the finish is rigid MDF construction with interlocking joinery for added strength. Every exposed surface is finished in select veneers and hand-rubbed several times. Adjustable cone feet with leveling washers are included, and every Expression is backed by Legacy’s seven-year warranty.
