Electronically, Legacy is involved in the design and specification of all of its drivers and components. We work with a very select group of international manufacturers to develop each component part. Our Solen capacitors are from France, tweeters and midranges from Italy and Germany, woofers from USA and Italy, HF Silver wire from Kimber, amplifiers from Denmark, DSP modules from Canada. In a world where most of our competition is turn-key from Asia, we strive to use only the finest components.
Legacy includes a 7 year warrranty on parts and craftsmanship. All electronics and are covered by a 3 years warranty protecting you against manufacturing defects.
Manuals are available online on each product page in the SPECIFICATIONS section. Printed manuals are available upon request.
We recommend placing tower speakers a minimum of 12 inches from the wall. Placing your speakers asymmetrically relative to the two nearest walls will help minimize the interaction between the speaker and room.
Legacy recommends an industry standard 75-100 hours of break-in time for their speakers. In warmer weather they usually require less time to break-in.
Some Legacy speakers come with treble and bass trim toggle switches. The default position (up) is nominally flat. Flipping the treble switch down provides a 2dB cut at 10 kHz resulting in shelving for brighter rooms. Flipping the bass switch down provides a 2dB cut at 60 Hz and also raises the impedance to better match budget receivers.
Yes, leaving your subwoofer powered on is ok.
All Legacy speakers have an impedance of 4 ohms.
The quality of the connection is first and foremost. Beyond that, a 10 gauge multi-strand is cable is usually optimal from speaker to amplifier. Detectable differences found in interconnects are usually noise level related. The best bet is to use a locking balanced XLR with internal shield when possible.
